5 Reasons Why Every Homeowner Needs Protection Against Sewer and Water Line Failures
Owning a home is a source of immense pride and joy, but unexpected sewer or water line problems can quickly turn that joy into a quagmire of stress and (literal) crap. These exterior pipes are essential to your home, yet many homeowners aren’t prepared for the financial or logistical headaches they can cause. Here’s why protecting yourself is a smart move:

1. These Pipes Fail More Often Than You Think
Sewer and water line failures happen all the time, for a variety of reasons: age, rodents, tree roots, or even cold weather. Many homeowners don’t realize how vulnerable they are until it’s too late. Disaster can strike without warning, leaving you scrambling for a solution. You probably know someone who has dealt with one of these issues, just ask around - a friend or neighbor has experienced this nightmare.

2. Your Insurance Likely Doesn’t Cover It
Despite what most homeowners assume (and rightfully so), home insurance policies typically don’t cover sewer or water line repairs. That means you’re responsible for the entire cost—and the city won’t help, either. Without protection, you’re left to shoulder a potentially huge bill. This may seem unfair, but these pipes are an extension of your home and on your property - therefore they’re your responsibility.
3. Burst Pipes Can Be a Financial Nightmare
The average replacement bill for sewer or water line issues is $4,000 to $5,000, but it can easily climb to $15,000 or more. These types of issues don’t just hurt your wallet; they can also create a massive mess, disrupting your home and your life. When you consider the monthly cost of a warranty plan (less than 30 cents a day), it’s hard to imagine why you wouldn’t want to have that protection.
4. Finding a Plumber in a Pinch is a Hassle
When disaster strikes, the last thing you want to do is to spend precious hours trying to find and manage plumbers. It’s time-consuming, frustrating, and generally a pain in the you know what. No one has time for that — especially during an emergency. You need a plan that provides immediate access to a qualified professionals that know these pipes and can resolve the issue quickly and correctly.
5. A Warranty Plan Gives You Total Peace of Mind
With a utility line warranty, you’re covered from start to finish. From filing a claim to resolving the issue, a warranty (unlike insurance) will not only fix the problem, but will also pay for it. Plus, you won’t even have to lift a finger since the plan provides qualified, licensed & insured professionals to ensure the job is done right. And with no deductible, you can rest easy knowing you won’t face unexpected expenses. It’s winning combination for smart homeowners.
